Fitting Basics

Always tie animals head up when you are working close. This teaches them to stand in the same position as in the showring.

BRUSHING

Brush hair down and forward to get all hair going the same direction.
Do not forget legs inside, out, front, and back.

SHOWING Stay calm, keep animal's head up.
Always move show stick in a slow deliberate motion.
Pay attention to judge, but watch your animal also, to maintain control.
Do not smile - smiling needs to be done after the class is over.
Set front feet square and back foot on judge's side 4 inches behind other foot.

GOOD LUCK, COUPLED WITH HARD WORK, SEEMS TO BE THE WAY TO SUCCEED IN THE SHOWRING.
