MaineTainer

MaineTainer is the promotional trademark name given to registered Maine-Anjou seedstock that range in percentage from ¼ to 5/8 percent Maine-Anjou.

The MaineTainer name was adopted by the American Maine-Anjou Association in July of 2002. The continued growth of this division of cattle is a direct result of the sound purebred and Fullblood breeding programs that has preceded the MaineTainer division of the American Maine-Anjou Association.

Please refer to the American Maine-Anjou upgrading chart for MaineTainer registration percentage guideline information. Items of note for;

Registering MaineTainer Bulls
In order to register MaineTainer bulls out of a non Maine-Anjou sire, the sire must be a registered bull of another breed and on file with AMAA.

Registering MaineTainer Steers

All steers must be sired by a registered Maine-Anjou bull.

Registering MaineTainer Females
Female MaineTainer registration can come from either side of the pedigree. Different than a MaineTainer bull registration either the sire or dam can be a non-registered individual. If this is the case then the opposite side of the pedigree must at least be a registered ½ MaineTainer in order to meet the ¼ progeny requirement.
