MAINE-ANJOU PERFORMANCE PROGRAM 2012-2013 AGREEMENT

IF YOU ARE A NEW MEMBER PLEASE READ AND SIGN THE FOLLOWING AGREEMENT FOR THE 2012-2013 YEAR. 
A PROGRAM TYPE MUST BE SELECTED AND A SIGNATURE OF THE AMAA ACCOUNT HOLDER(S) MUST SIGN AND RETURN THIS AGREEMENT TO US PRIOR TO REGISTERING. THOSE THAT DO NOT SIGN THE AGREEMENT WILL BE PLACED IN THE BREEDERS CHOICE PROGRAM UNTIL A PROGRAM TYPE IS SELECTED. BELOW ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EACH PROGRAM:
MAPP (Maine-Anjou Performance Program) terms and conditions:

• Receive EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences) on registered progeny (updated twice a year)
• EPDs are very helpful tools to breeders and buyers and may be required at shows or sales
• If not registered but reported, data will be a part of the AMAA performance program but not available to the breeder
• Members must keep an active female list
• An inventory list of all dams will be mailed to you in September of every year. There will be a strict deadline for those inventories to be returned to the AMAA or risk being removed from the MAPP program if not received by the deadline. Arrangements are to be made with the AMAA if you are unable to meet deadline(s).
• A $5 fee to activate a dam when registering in the current year will be applied if registering out of that dam for the first time. You will be invoiced $5 per active Maine-Anjou female every January based on your returned inventory. Performance-only or Pedigrees from another association are not assessed the $5 fee.
• Failure to pay the annual MAPP billing within 60 days of invoicing will result in being charged a non-refundable finance charge and may at the discretion of the AMAA Executive Vice President or Registration Department to be removed from the program for non-payment or failure to return inventories by deadline.
• Registration rates are lower for those in this program but are expected to keep their account in good standing at all times (reference enclosed self-billing worksheet)
• At any time you feel this program is not for you, you must sign a new agreement accepting the terms and conditions of the Breeders Choice program and pay for any dams that were used to register progeny while in MAPP. Any recent work within the past 30 days will be adjusted to reflect Breeders Choice prices. At any time you wish to return to MAPP you must pay a reactivation fee of $50.
Strict guidelines are enforced by selecting MAPP; however the AMAA Board of Directors recognizes that change does not always come easily but truly believes that MAPP offers breed stability along with growth and a wider arena for Maine-Anjou genetic acceptance.
 BREEDERS CHOICE terms and conditions:
• Will not receive EPDs on registered progeny
• Registration fees will be higher (reference enclosed self-billing worksheet)
• No other fees involved.
• All participants are expected to keep their account in good standing. Any account balance not paid within 60 day of billing will be charged a non-refundable finance charge.
• At any time you wish to change from Breeders Choice to MAPP a new agreement  must be signed and mailed to AMAA
MAPP REGULATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. All registered Maine-Anjou and Maintainer females are included in the MAPP program. Registered females of another breed or commercial females will not be charged the active female fee.
2. A member's registered active female herd can only be a part of either MAPP or Breeders Choice; herd must be enrolled in MAPP in order to attain EPDs on progeny (if all AMAA performance criteria is met).
3. For those members who do enroll in MAPP, inventories will be sent in late summer with a noted date of return. (A deadline will be indicated with the inventory and a penalty will apply to those inventories retuned after posted deadline.)
4. Registration forms on 8 ½ x 14 paper will be mailed with the inventories with all dams that are eligible to be enrolled. These registrations are not required to be mailed in with the inventories. You may return the actual registrations in at your discretion. The registration applications are intended to be a convenience to you, the breeder for submitting registrations.
5. When a herd is enrolled in MAPP, an active female must be enrolled in order to transfer.
6. Stated registration and transfer fees will apply to progeny of MAPP females.
7. A reactivation fee of $50 applies only when cattle are declared on the MAPP inventory, dropped, and then reactivated.
8. Multiple-owned females must be on each individual member's inventory in order to register progeny.
9. One of the following must be received at the AMAA office for each female inventory:
 • A calf record, inclusive of AMAA performance record requirements 
 • A Disposal code on the cow
 • A calving code for non-live calves
10. When a female is purchased from a herd participating in the Breeders Choice program by a herd participating in MAPP, the MAPP member must pay the current year annual active fee of $5 in order to activate the female on the inventory list. 

Without a doubt, there will be situations that are unforeseen and will need to be handled on a one-on-one basis. In those situations, the members (s) are expected to call or email the AMAA to make necessary arrangements to keep all accounts in good standing. The Executive Vice President and AMAA Registration Department will make an effort to work with each customer on a case by case basis.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This agreement is binding between the Maine-Anjou Association and all person(s) listed on the foresaid account below. All parties on the account have read all terms and conditions for both programs. All parties acknowledge a program has to be selected in order to register. At any time a party wishes to change programs a new agreement is to be signed and returned to AMAA. All parties hereby agree to keep all account(s) in good standing, complete and return inventories by the deadline and know the risks and terms if said parties do not comply.
